Centre of a historic farmhouse has been modernized and turned into a beautiful contemporary loft home. The house is located in Budapest, Hungary and was a project by Studio Nucleo. It’s a 70 square meter structure surrounded by old trees, while the architecture firm really wanted to preserve the main element and to highlight its beauty.

The owners requested a simple design that would allow them to admire the beautiful views of the garden from up close. And what a view it is. You can admire two sides of the garden from the living room. The other rooms are intentionally placed to the rear of the house in order to allow the owners to enjoy additional garden spaces while also being in a close proximity to the main house.

In order to achieve such an exterior juxtaposition and to make the garden an important part of the living atmosphere, the ground floor contains a technical room, a lobby, office, main entrance, kitchen, dining area, family room and a partially covered area. On the second floor are the bedrooms, bathrooms, the laundry room and a small terrace.

The overall design is very clean and simple, emphasizing the geometry of the house and choosing the white color for all the materials, surfaces and colors in general. This white background is also found in most of the furniture and other elements that define the interior design.
