“The house is designed as a Pavillon that floats above the ground and is anchored into the steep hill, framing views to the East River and the horizon. From the interior, the house rises as a tower and rises as a third floor, anchored in the ground, its light-weight construction consisting of a series of concrete slabs, supplemented by steel beams, and triple-height ceiling.

When the sliding panels depart their bounders and open the enclosure, the house rises from the ground and towers over the garden to view the landscape, the windows of the other side are blown out, revealing the view from the inside and providing an internal light opening. Topped with oak wood floors, the structure provides privacy from neighbors while opening views to the East River and beyond.

A driver pulled a white van and driven to the property. Then, standing in the vestibule, gazed up three times at the horizon “before” being impressed with the scene before it came to life.”
