Finding the perfect place to raise a drink is not easy, no matter the size of the terrace or apartment. But if you know exactly what you want, you can actually make that happen, like in the case of this basement bar. Located in Södermalm, Sweden, the place is called “Düssea” and it’s a perfect getaway place where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the middle of nature without disturbing the rest of the city because the landscape is totally uncaring.
The basement was actually part of a former ground floor warehouse. The floor is 8 meters long by 16 meters wide and has been insulated with framed glass. The bar is situated under the roof but it’s actually integrated in that particular space. The entire basement houses a kitchen, a living room with a sofa, a bedroom, a bathroom and a mezzanine level with a sofa.
The pitch of the roof allows the guests to admire the beautiful views of the surroundings and the landscape. The rooftop terrace is also great and it offers expansive views over the entire city. The unique design of this basement bar has been partly chosen to create a sense of quiet and peace. The design was also chosen in order to match the neighboring building and to allow the city to blend into the basement. The basement area is a flexible space and it can be used for a variety of different activities, such as a living room, a dining room, a music room, a party room, a library, an office, a basement bar and game room.
