This contemporary apartment is located in South Africa.
It was designed by Antoni Associates.
Slanting ceiling interior by Antoni Associates:
“The flat roof condition was addressed in order to create a double height space inside the flat and to accommodate an extensive living area. Apart from the existing structural problems, the main issue was the location of the rear bathroom. I chose the placement of the bathroom because the attic had a small skylight, and the bathroom itself has a small window.
All of the finishes were selected in order to reinforce the architectural language of the flat, the interiors fit in perfectly with the exterior environment. I wanted the interior to be light filled, but also be either robust or light filled. Materiality was important and I wanted it to have a rough and organic finish.”
